Aston Villa and Steve Bruce are in talks with John Terry about the former Chelsea captains future as he became a free agent this summer according to reports from The Sun.
Bruce and the former England international played a round of golf in Portugal while they held talks about the possibility of Terry coming to Villa Park.
The 36-year-old is thought to be keen on the challenge of leading Aston Villa to promotion and back to the Premier League with a contract and a big promotion bonus.
It is thought that Terry hit it off with the Villa manager on their round of golf and he likes the challenge on offer with Bruce’s club.
It is known that the Villa boss needs to sell before he buys but Villa owner Dr. Tony Xia will come up with a package for the former Chelsea captain.
Terry has already spoken to Bournemouth about a move but he may prefer the higher chance of silverware at Villa Park.
He is a born winner and will bring vast experience and a very much needed winning mentality to the side. Being a good passer of the ball, playing him alongside Chester at the back would be a more composing back line than if Baker were in it.
Even at the age of 36, Terry still has the capabilities to perform at Premier League level so if we could bring him in for a season that would be a very astute bit of business.
