According to reports from the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are currently open to listening to offers for midfielder Gary Gardner.
Having brought in five new players to the club this summer, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is now looking to balance the books by offloading a couple of squad members and somewhat surprisingly, the 56-year-old allowed defender Nathan Baker to leave for Bristol City.
Baker is believed to have joined Bristol for a fee of around £4million and in addition to the defender, the likes of Tommy Elphick, Ross McCormack and Aly Cissokho are also expected to be leaving soon.
Another name touted for a departure from Villa is youth product Gary Gardner and it is claimed that Nottingham Forest are interested in acquiring the services of the 25-year-old on a permanent basis this time around.
In an update to the story, the Birmingham Mail have now confirmed that Bruce is open to listening to offers for Gardner and sadly the 25-year-old’s time with his boyhood club is set to come to an end imminently.
