The Sporting Director of Yeni Malatayaspor has confirmed that his club is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Aston Villa over the transfer of Aly Cissokho.
Cissokho has endured a difficult time since joining Aston Villa from Valencia back in 2014 and while the left-back has shown flashes of his quality, it has been too sporadic for him to have established himself as a regular at Villa Park.
With manager Steve Bruce clearly viewing Cissokho as surplus to requirements at Villa, it is widely expected that the 29-year-old will be leaving the Midlands on a permanent basis this summer and the ex-Liverpool man has consistently been linked with a host of clubs during the current window.
Recently, reports of Cissokho making a move to Turkish outfit Yeni Malatayaspor had been gathering steam and now the cub’s Sporting Director Ali Ravci has gone on to confirm that the 29-year-old will join his side once a few minor details with Villa are ironed out.
Ravci said at the Duzce Topruk Yayla grounds, “There are a few minor issues to resolve with Aston Villa and then the transfer will go ahead.”
Cissokho has not proven to be a good signing for Villa and his departure is certainly a positive in regards to trimming the wage bill at Villa Park.
