According to reports from the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are set to dispense with the services of Gary Gardner this summer.
A lot was expected of Gary Gardner when he broke into the Aston Villa first team back in 2011 and the midfielder had quickly managed to capture the imagination of the fans with his combative performances in the Premier League.
Unfortunately though, Gardner has not been able to fulfill his promise over the years, mainly owing to a number of serious knee injuries, and it now sadly looks like the Villa youth product is set for an exit from his boyhood club this summer.
While Gardner did make 27 appearances for Villa last season, it looks like he is not in the plans of manager Steve Bruce fir the upcoming campaign after he was left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Germany following the arrival of Glenn Whelan.
Therefore, it is widely believed that Gardner will be allowed to leave Villa this summer and Nottingham Forest have been named as the favourite to re-sign the 25-year-old by the Daily Mail.
