According to reports from HITC, Aston Villa will be facing competition from Premier League outfit Burnley in the race to sign Crystal Palace star James McArthur.
James McArthur has played a key role in helping Crystal Palace establish themselves in the Premier League since joining the club from Wigan Athletic back in 2014 and he was crucial to the Eagles’ successful battle against the drop last term as well.
Despite his contribution though, McArthur has widely been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this summer following the arrival of Frank de Boer as manager and a host of clubs are understandably keen on signing the Scottish international.
Ambitious Aston Villa have strongly been linked with a £2million swoop for McArthur in recent times and now according to reports from HITC, even Burnley have joined in the race to sign the 29-year-old.
Villa will probably struggle to compete with Burnley due to the Clarets’ status as a Premier League club but McArthur can be lured to Villa Park with the prospect of regular minutes on the pitch.
