According to reports from HITC, Aston Villa have registered an interest in signing Ostersund’s Jamie Hopcutt.
Aston Villa have been relatively quiet in the current summer transfer market but the two players they have brought in so far in John Terry and Sam Johnstone most certainly improves the squad significantly.
One can be sure that Villa boss Steve Bruce will be looking to add a few more faces before the end of the window next month and signing a new midfielder seems to be high on the agenda for the 56-year-old.
Now according to reports from HITC, revelations can be made that Villa are currently considering a swoop for Ostersund star Jamie Hopcutt.
Hopcutt started his career at York City but he has managed to make his name playing for Ostersund in Sweden since 2012 and he recently boosted his reputation with a stunning solo goal in his side’s shock 2-0 win over Turkish giants Galatasaray in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday.
Villa are now said to be very keen on signing Hopcutt this summer but they will face competition from the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton for the midfielder who has scored 38 goals in 109 appearances for Ostersund.
