Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Conor Hourihane has hailed the impact John Terry has already had at Aston Villa.
Aston Villa managed a huge coup by securing the services of John Terry recently and the fans are certainly excited to see what sort of impact the Chelsea legend will have in the club’s hopes of earning promotion into the Premier League during the upcoming campaign.
A leader like Terry is certain to have a huge influence both on and off the pitch for Villa and now midfielder Conor Hourihane has gone on to reveal how the mere presence of the 36-year-old has boosted the morale of the entire team.
Hourihane said of Terry: “Obviously with JT coming in, you couldn’t get any better for this level. It will give everyone a boost. It looked like it did, that was the case in Portugal.
“Things are looking good. Obviously we had two good wins tonight so it’s on to Saturday (friendly at Shrewsbury) now.
“There’s some good players in our squad for this level, there’ll be more leaving and more coming so we’ll have a good squad come the first game of the season. We’ll all be ready to go and we need to produce.”
Terry missed Villa’s friendly encounters against Telford and Kidderminster but he is expected to feature in some capacity during the upcoming friendly clashes.
