The Scotsman had a fallout with the Villa manager earlier on in the season after he had missed several training sessions, blaming his gates not opening for one excuse.
McCormack was signed by Roberto Di Matteo for a then Championship record breaking fee but couldn’t make the impact that Villa fans were hoping for.
The former Fulham player only managed to score two goals before being sent out on loan to Nottingham Forrest in January but failed to make an impact at making only three starts and scoring just one goal.
There have been questions of the strikers fitness but he is reportedly going to be on a fitness plan over the summer to get back into top shape.
McCormack, without a doubt, has the ability to get goals at Championship level as he has scored goals at Cardiff, Leeds and Fulham but Bruce just needs him to get into full fitness and find a way to get him into the team.
If McCormack can re-find his top form that everyone has seen then there is no doubt that he will help Villa in their promotion push next campaign.
