Aston Villa will face competition if they want to bring Burnley winger George Boyd through the door report The Birmingham Mail.
Boyd is out of contract at Turf Moor this summer and the former Peterborough man recently turned down a one year extension to stay at the club.
It is thought that the winger wants a long term deal and he may be willing to drop down to the Championship to get one.
Steve Bruce is a known admirer of the 31 year-old and is thought to be interested and willing to bring Boyd to Villa Park.
The Villa boss wants to bring in 3/4 quality Championship players with a winger thought to be on that list however Gary Rowett, now managing Derby County, is attempting to bring Boyd to Pride Park so Bruce needs to move fast if he really wants to secure his man.
The English born winger has made 39 appearances in all competitions for Burnley this season but only managed to score two goals and get one assist.
