Reports have come out from Australia that Villa are interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy.
Australian news outlet SBS – The World Game have reported that Steve Bruce is interested in bringing the Australian to Villa Park.
Mooy has spent the last season on loan at Huddersfield Town, helping them gain play off places. The central midfielder was an integral part of David Wagners team which is why he is earning interest from not only Villa, but Derby, Newcastle and Crystal Palace as well.
The Australian came through the ranks at Bolton before earning a move to Scotland, signing for St. Mirren. Mooy signed for Man City last year from their feeder club Melbourne City but was shipped straight out on loan.
He is currently valued at £10m so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bruce tried to bring the Aussie in on loan. This sort of midfielder is someone Villa need, as because of his versatility he can play as a deep lying midfielder or even behind the strikers further up the pitch.
Huddersfield play Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi finals tonight and his value could rise if The Terriers do end up getting promoted.
